Please note this is a 2 day workshop. In day 1 you will cover fundamental skills and on day 2 you will build a simple box to practice and consolidate the skills you've learnt.
What will I learn?
Our facilitators will teach you essential woodworking skills that will serve you well beyond a single project. Before diving into something big, it’s important to master the basics—like measuring and marking wood accurately, sawing by hand, and using a drill for both drilling and driving screws. These foundational skills will give you the confidence and independence to tackle future projects. Whether you're new to woodworking or looking to sharpen your abilities, this workshop is designed to set you up with useful skills and know how.
This beginners workshop was designed in consultation with the lovely Patt Gregory, creator of Woodwork for Women and author of woodwork for women: cutting a new path for beginners. Patt has utilised her 30 years of experience to support our facilitators: Pica, Brigitte, Eloise and Helen in developing a gentle and thorough approach to teaching.
