Another date is being investigated for June   Members only event Discover the Art of Woodworking: 2 half-days x  4 hours, starting at 13:00  on Wednesday 22nd April and 13:00 am on Friday 24th April ) Are you interested in woodworking but don't know where to start? Fancy having a go ? Join us for an exclusive introductory workshop, where our in-house members share their skills with you in a small, and safe environment.   What to Expect: Hands-On Learning: Gain practical skills and hands-on experience in a safe and supportive setting.  (ie. Use of Power drill, Japanese Saw) Collaborative Learning: Our unique approach ensures that both learners and facilitators benefit from the exchange of skills. You will learn woodworking techniques, and they will learn about teaching others!.  Unique Opportunity: Learn skills not traditionally available, and empower yourself to become a maker. Boost your confidence: You will proudly take your finished item, a self-made box or an item of your own design, home!  Limited Spaces Available: Don't miss out! We're keeping this workshop small to ensure personalized attention, so secure your spot today. Cost: We charge a small fee of $50 to cover venue hire and materials.   Members only - Tickets are still available Now that the weather has cooled off a bit, it is time to get your bikes checked out and learn the basic of bike maintenance. This is a great opportunity and bike rides will be organised.... Bring yourself, a sun-hat and your bike prepared to get your hands dirty.  Please wear closed shoes.   Location : Alice's house Registration is essential due to limited event. Event is open to public Are you confident with safe online shopping in this fast changing environment ?   Do you know how to keep your passwords safe ?   After a few days off for Easter, our events are ramping up again.. Come to this free digi skill workshops  to find out more about these important subjects at  Earthwise… or  just come for coffee… or both!  Registration for the Digi session is ESSENTIAL  and is open to the public. The workshop is an open session for all levels of digital confidence  We’ll start with registration & a quick 10-minute quiz to assess your digital skills (if this is your 1st session). We’ll be talking about online shopping. How to stay safe whilst online shopping.  And how to manage passwords safely.   Facilitators will be on hand to support you and you can learn at your own pace. Learning modules only take a few mins to complete.  After 45 minutes, we’ll break for coffee, and then you’re welcome to continue learning with us at Earthwise or explore further at home.  Bring your own device (phone, tablet, or laptop), or you’re welcome to borrow one on the day.   Time: Saturday 15th April 10:00-12:00 (including coffee/chat from 11:00 - participants can opt to leave from 11:00) Place: Earthwise - 315 Bagot Rd, Subiaco  Parking: There is free parking in nearby streets, Theatre Gardens and at Crossways Shopping Centre (corner Bagot and Rokeby)  Sign up here for your complimentary ticket.   Hello - Thank you to all the volunteers who signed up to help and all the organizers working behind the scene. The weather is not looking favourable for Saturday 28th March due to cyclone Narelle with lots of wind/rain all day so in consultation with Bunnings decided to postpone our sizzle to a future date (TBA).      ******** To all Subiaco Women Shed members .. let us know if you can assist with manning the stand during the day and what time/duration via registration (details section).  A roster will be established. This outdoor event will be fun - & our major fundraising event for the year. Thank you !  Let's make it successful :)

Registration required Dear "shedders" Have you ever wonder how to restore some old furniture or just improve a new piece ? If yes, this is for you. We are extremely fortunate to have Peter Bolton, who has been restoring furniture for many years to share his stories and experiences. Peter used to run Subiaco Antique shop for many years.  This should be a fun session with lots of time for your Q&A. A bit about Peter: After leaving school Peter studied at High Wycombe College of Technology. His three year course involved Furniture Manufacturing ; Furniture finishing and polishing, Upholstery techniques, Antique and Modern, as well as  the history of Antique Furniture including French Polishing, staining and re-finishing. Arriving in Australia 46 years ago Petr was keen to get involved with the Antique Business which was thriving at the time. He worked at an Antique shop in Subiaco; he's lost count of how many pieces he has restored over the years! Peter is keen to share his knowledge and experience doing Antique Furniture Restoration. He particularly enjoys helping people restore  sentimental value pieces of Antique Furniture. Registration for your ticket here. Members only event Have an unfinished project? Join us for Open Workshop! This is a session where members can drop in and make use of the space, tools, and community. We have our community mosaic that also needs finishing which you can do over a cuppa. Bring along any project you’re currently working on, or take the opportunity to finish pieces started in previous workshops. There will be no formal instruction however we will be there to assist as and when needed.  Open Workshop is a time and space to work at your own pace and your own project with the use of the Sheds equipment. Even if you don't have a current project you can still come along and join the good vibes!   Limited spaces available: Don't miss out! We are keeping numbers limited to ensure people have sufficient space to work.  Safety: please wear enclosed shoes.  Prerequisites: if you are planning on using the equipment you must have attending the Introduction to Woodworking workshop. If you coming along to work on your own project, no prerequisite required.
